In a zone of war at sea all light is a source of terror for the sailors, making their ship a visible target for the enemy. But the enemy may already be aboard the Glencairn, and in their midst, like Smitty who keeps a little black box under his mattress, and spends his time alone on deck, sitting in the moonlight, starring at the sea.
